Men and women alike kicked up their stilettos, pumps and platforms at Central Virginia’s debut of the Komen High Heel Dash, held March 10 at the Shops at Innsbrook. Hosted by the Central Virginia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the event featured a 50-yard dash for participants, who wore creative costumes with their heels of choice to vie for the honor of “best dressed” as well as fastest.
The event also featured a celebrity shoe auction, at which the public bid on fancy footwear decorated by celebrity donors, including the Richmond Kickers, Richmond Ballet, The Science Museum of Virginia and Barksdale Theater. Sponsored by Saxon Shoes, the first annual High Heel Dash kicked off the season for the 15th annual Central Virginia Race for the Cure®, which will take place May 12.
