Raise money for kids with cancer at ASK Fun Walk & 5K

The ASK Fun Walk & 5K will be held on Saturday, April 28 at Short Pump Town Center. All money raised will support local children and their families battling cancer with assistance, support and kindness through the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. The 5K Run will start at 8 a.m. with the Family Fun Walk following at 8:05 a.m. Family-friendly activities will take place throughout the morning including live music from The Jangling Reinharts, games, children’s activities and awards. Race winners will be recognized, as well as top fundraisers. All ASK kids (current patients and survivors) will participate in the Kourageous Kids Victory Lap.

Since 2004, the ASK Fun Walk & 5K event has raised over $530,000 to support ASK’s programs. For more information and to register, visit http://www.askwalk.org

Popular Short Pump spot offers upscale comfort, flavors
The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
