Little Sisters’ event raises funds

Michael and Bevin Kehoe (left) and Ruth and Franco Ambrogi (of Franco’s Fine Clothiers) were among the more than 200 guests at the 38th Annual Little Sisters of the Poor Benefit Dinner Feb. 9 at the Commonwealth Club in downtown Richmond. The evening’s entertainment was provided by the Little Sisters themselves, who serenaded the dinner guests with humor and music, accompanied by Sr. Jeanne Emmanuel’s guitar. The event raised almost $169,000 in support of the Little Sisters’ mission.

The Henrico County Planning Department will hold a workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at John Rolfe Middle School, 6901 Messer Rd., for residents and other members of the public to provide additional input for a study of the Route 5 corridor and Marion Hill areas. The meeting will include an overview of community input received so far and an explanation of how it is reflected in the study’s draft goals and objectives. The presentation will be followed by an exercise that will allow attendees to express their opinions about the draft goals and objectives. Participants will use electronic keypads to register their opinions, and results for the group will be displayed on-screen in real time. Participants also will be asked to provide feedback about a restroom facility that is planned at the Four Mile Creek Park trailhead. The draft Route 5 Corridor/Marion Hill Study, with summaries of previous meetings, is available at http://henrico.us/projects.
