Lewis Ginter offering free admission July 4

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is again offering free admission July 4 as part of its All-American Celebration. Now in its third year, past history has seen an especially diverse group of visitors on this day with attendance ranging from 3,000-5,000 guests.

Guests on the fourth will be able to visit the garden’s Butterflies Live exhibit and participate in children’s activities. The Happy Lucky Combo will perform live music from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Children’s Garden. At 2 p.m. guests are invited to decorate themselves, strollers and wagons in red, white and blue and parade around the Children’s Garden.

Other attractions include the WaterPlay area, ice cream (available for purchase) and Ms. Wheelchair Virginia Stephanie Copeland, who will make an appearance in the Children’s Garden.

The garden is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is located at 1800 Lakeside Ave. For details, visit http://www.lewisginter.org.

Henrico County and PGA TOUR officials will hold an Information Session for local residents in the River Road corridor in preparation for the 2017 Dominion Energy Charity Classic. The session will take place at 5:30 p.m. at River Road Presbyterian Church, 8960 River Rd. Residents are invited to attend this session to learn more about the tournament and the parking, traffic routing and security plans for the event.
