The editors of Rodale polled the managers of the most popular farmers’ markets in the country, according to the American Farmland Trust’s most recent annual awards, to get the best insider tips on making market shopping easier and sometimes cheaper.

The Lakeside Farmers’ Market was selected for its wide array of juicy, in-season produce, including its claim to fame – fresh eggs. The supply comes from a small farm located directly behind the market. Market Manager Peter Francisco also gave his insider secret to snagging a bargain.
