The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the military-to-civilian recruitment firm RecruitMilitary will collaborate on a hiring event for military veterans at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday, Aug. 16.
The Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo invites veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses and other military family members. More than 35 employers, educational institutions and government agencies are expected to attend with jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. General Electric will also offer free one-on-one mentoring sessions on resume building, resume writing and interviewing techniques for all participants. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.
