HCPA accepting applications for fall academy

The Henrico Citizens Police Academy is now accepting applications for its 38th academy set to begin in September. Classes will be held Mondays, Sept. 10 through Nov. 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
At the Citizens Police Academy students will learn about the Division’s mission and community policing philosophy, law enforcement operations, the criminal justice system, crime prevention and crime trends and how they affect the community. Alumni serve as a support base for the Division of Police through education, training and volunteer participation and act as liaisons between the Division and the citizens of Henrico County. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.
