Henrico resident and community leader Karl Bren was honored Oct. 21 at the Virginia Historical Society as a recipient of one of the James River Green Building Council’s (JRGBC) Sixth Annual Green Building Leadership Awards. Bren (pictured, center, with JRGBC Executive Director Megan Miller, left, and JRGBC Chair Lynn Rogien) is the owner of GreenVisions Consulting and has been involved with green building and sustainable development for more than 20 years. Among other recipients of awards were the organizations Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity and the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation and projects such as VCU’s Inger and Walter Rice Center for Environmental Life Sciences and the Moseley Architects’ headquarters building.
