Girls in foster care meet princess

Twenty young girls in foster care under Henrico County’s Department of Social Services came to the Gottwald Playhouse at Richmond Centerstage hoping to meet a Disney princess, and left with new-found friends.

The forum, There is a Princess Tiana in all of Us, was put together by Feld Entertainment and the Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream show that played at the Richmond Coliseum in September. The girls worked on creating their own tiaras, then enjoyed a visit with Princess Tiana and conversation and encouragement from local successful women.

Among the Richmond-area women who took time out to meet with the girls were (pictured, left to right) NBC12/Fox News at Ten's Diane Walker; Jane Crawley, director of Henrico County Department of Social Services; Princess Tiana - Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream princess;'s Kate Hall; and WTVR-FM Lite 98 mid-day host Kat Simons.
