Capping the season in tune

The "Knitters of Cedarfield" made their annual donation of knitted caps to the Henrico Christmas Mother Dec. 5 at The Hermitage at Cedarfield, presenting 110 caps to be used by needy families.

Among the Christmas Mothers on hand to thank the knitters were Mitty Sledd (1975) and Robin Smith (2009). The gift presentation was followed by a program of holiday music, performed by members of the Greater Richmond Chorus, who chose Cedarfield resident Russell Johnston as the impromptu subject of their affections during a "Santa Baby" number. Another Cedarfield resident, Charlotte McCutcheon, sold additional knitted caps and annually donates all proceeds to the
Henrico Christmas Mother and the Central Va. Food Bank.

The Short Pump Ruritan Club's 27th annual Craft Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Short Pump Middle School, 4701 Pouncey Tract Rd. More than 70 crafters and vendors will be participating featuring a variety of items, including handmade jewelry, purses, fall and Christmas décor, baked goods, photography, original paintings, Thirty-One, The Doll Hospital, doll clothes, handmade soap, candles and more.
