Capping the season in tune

The "Knitters of Cedarfield" made their annual donation of knitted caps to the Henrico Christmas Mother Dec. 5 at The Hermitage at Cedarfield, presenting 110 caps to be used by needy families.

Among the Christmas Mothers on hand to thank the knitters were Mitty Sledd (1975) and Robin Smith (2009). The gift presentation was followed by a program of holiday music, performed by members of the Greater Richmond Chorus, who chose Cedarfield resident Russell Johnston as the impromptu subject of their affections during a "Santa Baby" number. Another Cedarfield resident, Charlotte McCutcheon, sold additional knitted caps and annually donates all proceeds to the
Henrico Christmas Mother and the Central Va. Food Bank.

The Virginia Hispanic Chamber is hosting a workshop series for businesses in the area to promote technological literacy. Today’s topic is social media. The workshop will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at ECPI Innsbrook, 4305 Cox Rd. Chamber members, José Rubio and Winston Chaffins, will be in attendance to give a short overview lecture about how to use technology in a business prior to the guest speaker's presentation.
