All Strung Together

Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity (RMHFH) held its inaugural Youth Leadership Conference Nov. 20 at the Richmond Association of Realtors (RAR) headquarters on Three Chopt Road, launching a new Junior Board of Directors made up of university and high school students from around the region.

Students received advocacy training and participated in educational exercises and role-playing simulations to learn more about what is needed to create thriving communities, including an Affordable Housing Yarn Exercise (pictured at left, and above with a trio of Glen Allen H.S. students) in which students created a web of string to demonstrate all the elements that must come together through regional cooperation to create the fabric of community.
