A former player and his PALs

Edward Hudson, a former pitcher and catcher for the Negro Leagues, joined students at Harvie Elementary School’s Henrico PAL After-School Program May 3 to discuss his career, the Negro League, and its place in history.

A native of Williamsburg, Hudson (pictured, in rear) graduated from North Carolina State University in 1958 and played with the Detroit Stars and Kansas City Monarchs. He currently lives in Eastern Henrico and mentors and coaches local youngsters.
