Visit Henricus Historical Park March 22-23 to commemorate the anniversary of the 1622 Virginia Indian offensive which destroyed Henricus. A ceremony on Friday will honor English lives lost and perspectives of both Virginia Indians and colonists will be explored on Saturday. The Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond will present Les 7 Doigts de la Main’s production of “PSY” at 7:30 p.m. March 22-23 and at 2 p.m. March 24 in Alice Jepson Theatre. The Montreal-based circus company Les 7 Doigts de la Main is known for creating “circus at a human scale.” Their fourth creation, PSY, merges acrobatics of the body with acrobatics of the mind and soul by delving into the rich and surreal underworld of the human psyche. University of Richmond students will host the Emotions in Motion 5k March 23 to raise awareness about mental illness and raise funds for Suicide Awareness Voices of Education, a nonprofit organization that educates the public about symptoms of depression and mental illness, in order to decrease the stigma associated with them. The run will start at the Robins Center at 11:15 a.m. Registration fees are $20 for the general public and $10 for students and persons under age 12. Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts (CARE) will have cats and kittens for adoption at the Petco on Staples Mill Road from noon to 3 p.m. July 1 and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 2. CARE will have reduced adoption fees for pre-approved applications during this special adoption event. Apply at http://www.care-cats.org/application.

CARE is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, care and adoption of cats and kittens rescued from euthanizing animal shelters in Richmond and surrounding areas. The organization has rescued more than 7,000 cats and kittens in 15 years of operation.
