New signs installed in Meadowood

Two new signs were installed this week in the Meadowood subdivision, near Henrico High School, marking the community of 1960s-era brick ranchers and tri-level homes.

The signs of gold lettering on a black background feature an oval picture of birds soaring above a meadow and trees – significant because streets in the subdivision are named for birds. The signs were installed at Lark and Richmond-Henrico Turnpike and Sandpiper and Azalea Avenue.

Funding was provided by a grant from Henrico County and from the residents and members of the homeowners association.

Strangeways Brewing’s annual fall dog event Barktoberfest will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This free event will feature adoptable dogs, pet-related vendors, RVA food trucks, a silent auction, pet contests, face painting, 36+ beers to choose from and more.
