Forty-seven students from Henrico County were among those honored by the Richmond Vietnamese Association at its Sixth Annual Academic Awards Celebration, held Aug. 12 at the Church of the Vietnamese Martyrs in Henrico. Students were recognized for academic excellence. The keynote speaker was Henrico Superintendent Patrick Russo.

Henrico pubic school students honored were rising first-grader Trinhity Jade Desjardins; rising second-graders Rachel Duong, Michelle Ngo, Brian Nguyen and Tuong-Van H. Nguyen; rising third-graders Yen Luong, ThienMin Duong, Anna Lam, Trish Le, Anthony H. Nguyen, Minh-Thu H. Nguyen, Angela Nguyen and Troy Vu; rising fourth-
graders Khang C. Duong, Hoang T. Le, Khanh T. Ly, Jessica Nguyen, Trish Mimi Nguyen and Michelle Quach; rising fifth-graders Vinh P. Luong, Vivian Nguyen, Alex Minh Quan Quang Nguyen, Mai Ngoc Pham and AngelMai Truong; rising sixth-graders ThanhLong Duong, Kevin L. Nguyen and Vy D. Thi; rising seventh-graders Joy N. Luong, Justin Chinh Nhan Quang Nguyen and Tri Minh Nguyen; rising eighth-graders Linh Thuy Dao, Tri Kevin H. Duong, DonSon Nguyen, Justin Nam Nguyen and Maria Pham; rising ninth-graders Derek-Duy Duc Pham and Patricia Vo; rising eleventh-grader Minh-Vy Duong; rising twelfth-graders Van N. Le, Vi Thuy Nguyen-Tran and ThanhGia Trinh; and recent high school gradutaes Dung N. Nguyen-Tran and Kristina Khanh Pham.

In addition, four students from Henrico’s Our Lady of Lourdes school also were honored: rising fifth-grader Linh Ho; rising sixth-graders Tiffany Tran and Tracy Tran; and rising seventh-grader Christina Tran.
