The Latin Ballet of Virginia will present its 11th anniversary performance of “The Legend of the Poinsettia” at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 6-7 and at 3 p.m. Jan. 7-8 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd. The performance is an interpretation of the Mexican legend representing Christmas in Latin America. It tells the story of a pure-hearted young girl who discovers the true spirit of giving. This is the last weekend of Dominion GardenFest of Lights at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, 1800 Lakeside Ave. GardenFest is a holiday tradition that features more than a half million lights, botanical decorations, trains, holiday dinners, family activities and more. New this year are caroling on Tuesday nights, Peppermint Lane, a 250-foot tunnel of lights, whimsical fairy-house botanicals and more. GardenFest is a rain or shine event and runs nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Jan. 9. The Garden is closed Dec. 24-25.
