Advertise in the Henrico Citizen

The Henrico Citizen is Henrico County’s award-winning, independent hometown news source.
Since 2001, the Henrico Citizen has been in business to connect county residents with what’s going on in our community. From business, government and school news, to county events and development, to what Henrico citizens and local businesses are interested in and doing, the Henrico Citizen exists for one reason: to serve the people and community of Henrico County.

What makes the Henrico Citizen so different as an advertising channel?
We’re the only local media outlet dedicated solely, and totally, to the citizens of Henrico County. As an advertiser in the Henrico Citizen, you’ll reach a tremendously loyal community. Our readers are deeply involved and engaged in our county and strongly supportive of those who support it. For local advertisers, the Henrico Citizen is a direct line to Henrico citizens.

Where do readers find the Citizen?
The Henrico Citizen, published twice monthly, reaches Henrico residents by pick-up at more than 120 locations, including all Martin's, Kroger, Food Lion and Wawa stores in Henrico County, all county libraries, hospitals, retailers, restaurants and other locations. The Citizen also reaches more than 127,000 unique visitors annually through HenricoCitizen.com (where news, events and information are updated daily) and another 12,000 twice weekly through the Henrico Newsflash, an e-mail news update. The Citizen also provides news and information through Facebook and Twitter.

What other initiatives are connected to the Henrico Citizen?
The Henrico Citizen and Henrico Media Group also publish the annual Henricopedia (a magazine-style guide to all things Henrico) each September, and The Plate (a Henrico dining guide magazine) each summer. In 2015, the Citizen's parent company created and hosted the first two editions of Henrico Restaurant Week, which involved more than 40 Henrico restaurants and raised more than $10,000 for the Henrico-based Virginia Home for Boys and Girls and Henrico Christmas Mother program. The event is held twice annually.
