Friends of the Glen Allen Library to hold its Fall Book Sale

Description: Friends of the Glen Allen Library will hold its Fall Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27-28 in the large public meeting room at Glen Allen Library, 10501 Staples Mill Rd. A huge selection of over 4,000 well sorted items will be available at prices from $0.25 to $2. The collection includes hard cover, paper backs, children’s books, young adult books, DVDs and CDs. A special collection of unique, antique, and rare items will also be offered at slightly higher prices. Cash or check. Proceeds benefit the Glen Allen Library and its programs. Description: Experience an evening of spellbinding accounts and legendary tales as storytellers relive old English and Virginia Indian legends and folklore at Haunted Henricus at Henricus Historical Park Oct. 27-28 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Capture the essence of what a colonist felt between 1607-1622 in a strange new land surrounded by danger, darkness and uncertain peril. Things That Go Bump in the Night is not appropriate for children under the age of six; the Henricus Education Department is hosting Haunted Henricus, Jr. - Things That Go Bump in the Afternoon for children ages 3-8 at 3 p.m. This event will feature stories, crafts and a treats tour. Description: The Eastern Henrico Ruritan Club will hold a Turkey Shoot every Friday through Dec. 15 at Glen Echo Ball Field, 3812 Nine Mile Rd., from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Rounds cost $5 each per shooter. There are 16 shooters per round. Prizes will be awarded.
