Description: Toastmasters District 66 invites corporate executives to a morning of education about Toastmasters International and a presentation by Cathy Lewis, host of Hampton Roads’ public radio program “Hearsay” on WHRV-FM. Lewis will speak on “Leadership Language in an Uncivil World” and she will share her mission to convince businesses that they have the capacity and the obligation to help change the contentious conversational landscape in America today. The READ Center to hold 2 Volunteer Orientations

Description: The READ Center will hold a Volunteer Orientation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Center's mission is to help adults with low-level literacy develop reading and communication skills so they can fulfill their roles as citizens, workers and family members, and improve their quality of life. The Center provides classes and one-to-one tutoring and there is an ongoing need for volunteers willing to tutor students in reading, writing, basic math and digital skills.
