Over 100 companies from varying fields will be present offering thousands of jobs and internships at all experience levels. You don’t have to be a Hokie to attend. Proceeds benefit the Chapter Scholarship program for local VT students. Pre-registered candidates’ resumes are stored in a searchable database available to all participating employers. Description: The Richmond Home Show returns Oct. 13-15 to the Richmond Raceway Complex. More than 250 vendors representing every aspect of home improvement – including remodeling, kitchen and bath, décor, flooring, landscaping and more – will be available. Mark Bowe, host of DIY Network’s Barnwood Builders, also will be in attendance. The Main Stage will feature presentations by national and local experts and the Taste of Virginia marketplace and Beer Garden will offer samples. The READ Center will hold a Volunteer Orientation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 2 and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 4. The Center's mission is to help adults with low-level literacy develop reading and communication skills so they can fulfill their roles as citizens, workers and family members, and improve their quality of life. The Center provides classes and one-to-one tutoring and there is an ongoing need for volunteers willing to tutor students in reading, writing, basic math and digital skills.
