Henricus to host open house introducing new adult group programs in 2018

Description: Henricus Historical Park will host an informational open house from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. introducing the new adult group programs to begin in 2018. The open house is an opportunity for organizations to discover what Henricus can offer their club, church group, college class, or other organization. In the coming year, Henricus will be adding afternoon adult-themed programs with topics such as 17th Century Medicines, Colonial Brewing, and Winter Holiday Meals. Henrico County, GRTC to conduct series of public meetings on transit service changes

Description: Henrico County, in partnership with GRTC, is conducting a series of three Public Meetings to present recommended changes to transit service in Henrico County and to seek input from the public. Portions of Henrico County’s GRTC service will need to be adjusted to better connect with the upcoming Pulse BRT service and planned changes in the City of Richmond’s transit network. Meetings will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations: Oct. 5 – Libbie Mill Library; Oct. 16 – Eastern Henrico Recreation Center; and Nov. 2 – Tuckahoe Library. All three meetings will be identical in content. Prior to the meeting, you can view the Choices Report for more information about the content of the meetings.

Description: The Pocahontas Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society will meet at 7 p.m. at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Speakers Don and Peg Mohar, new members of the Pocahontas Chapter, will share their fascination with wild mushrooms – they have been learning about, collecting and photographing fungi of all kinds for many years. Following the fungi presentation, Bland Crowder, editor of the Flora of Virginia, will present a short update on the status of the Flora of Virginia mobile app. A short business meeting will follow the presentations.
