Free music camp for grades 3-6 planned at Corinth UMC July 18-20

Description: A free music camp will take place July 18-20 at Corinth United Methodist Church, 23 W. Williamsburg Rd. Students in grades 3-6 will learn hand drumming techniques and explore rhythms and world music through the playing of the cajon, a box drum. Class size is limited. Description: Virginia Repertory Theatre will present a musical retelling of the beloved American story “The Little Engine That Could” July 7-30 at The Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn. The classic family tale of determination and perseverance is reimagined through the heartwarming relationship between a young girl and her grandfather. His Americana style is a melting pot of alt-country, rock and roll, bluegrass, folk and blues. Also performing is Drew Gibson, who released his debut album “Letterbox” in 2007. The self-taught finger-style guitarist has garnered attention for his intensely personal songs and his stagecraft as a live performing storyteller.
