Rare Dementia Support Group to meet at VCU Neurological Orthopedic Wellness Center

Description: Each month, the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Richmond Chapter conducts support group meetings to provide the community with an opportunity to meet for mutual support and to exchange coping skills. A Rare Dementia Support Group, for caregivers and individuals with other dementias, will meet at 2 p.m. at the VCU Neurological Orthopedic Wellness Center, 11958 W. Center for the Arts at Henrico HS to present 2017 Visual Art Senior Show

Description: The Center for the Arts at Henrico High School will present its 2017 Visual Art Senior Show at Art Works, 320 Hull Street in Richmond, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is free.

The show is the culmination of the efforts of senior students of Mary Scurlock. The exhibit will appear in the Jane Sandelin Gallery through June 6.

Description: CharacterWorks, an after-school youth theater program, will present “James and the Giant Peach Jr.” May 25-28 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most fantastic stories, “James and the Giant Peach Jr.” is a brand-new take on this “masterpeach” of a tale. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach which promptly rolls into the ocean and launches him on a journey of enormous proportions. Description: CAT Theatre, located at 319 N. Wilkinson Rd., will present “When There’s A Will” May 19 to June 3. The play centers around a family gathering commanded by the matriarch, Dolores, to address their unhappiness with Grandmother’s hold on the clan’s inheritance and her unreasonable demands on her family. This dark comedy by local playwright Philip Ventrella will conclude CAT’s 2016-17 season. Tickets are $23 in advance and $25 at the door; opening night tickets are $33 in advance and $35 at the door.
