Description: The Children’s Clothing Closet at Highland Springs United Methodist Church, 22 N. Holly Ave., will be open from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday of the month. Clothing is available in sizes infant through teen and is free. Clothes are located on the second floor and no elevator is available.

Description: The Richmond Spring Carnival will take place Mar. 30 to Apr. 9 at 6807 Midlothian Tnpk. This family-friendly event features favorite fair food, games, and rides for all ages, from fun kiddie rides to state-of-the-art thrill rides, all along a colorful midway. Admission is free; ride cost varies. Unlimited ride wristbands are $25 Monday-Thursday and $30 Friday-Sunday. Ride tickets are also available onsite for $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus one free ride. Hours are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Extension, Master Gardeners to host 'Perennial Flower Garden' workshop at Deep Run Rec

Description: The Henrico County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Henrico Master Gardeners will present a series of free workshops this spring to help residents care for their lawns and gardens. The third workshop, “Planning and Planting the Perennial Flower Garden,” will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Deep Run Recreation Center. The session will focus on laying out a garden, selecting plants and seeds, and strategies for growing flowers that return each spring with little maintenance. To register, call 501-5160.
