Three local churches are holding events on Saturday: A Fall Veterans and Community Health Fair and Blood Drive at Antioch Baptist Church in Varina; a Fall Children’s Consignment Sale at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in the West End; and a Community Day event at Fair Oaks Baptist Church in Highland Springs. Glen Allen is the place to be this weekend in Henrico! The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen will present the modern string band, Sturgeon City, tonight – it’s their 2nd Stage season premiere. Susan Greenbaum is performing at the Shady Grove Coffeehouse and Lavender Fields Herb Farm is hosting their annual Fall Herb Faire. It’s a great weekend to get outside! The Pocahontas Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society is offering two events this weekend. Accompany the group to find and document native plants present and blooming in Echo Lake Park on Saturday or take a “Sunday Stroll” at Dorey Park to observe the seasonal changes taking place. Other outdoor events this weekend include the final summer concert at West Broad Village and “Fridays on the Patio” at James River Cellars Winery in Glen Allen.
