ComedySportz Richmond will host its annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraising event from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at CSZ Improv Theatre, 8906-H W. Broad St. ComedySportz is improvisational comedy played as a sport, with two teams and a referee taking suggestions from the loyal fans and creating scenes, games and songs with those suggestions. At the end, volunteers will shave their heads on stage. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds childhood cancer research. Tickets are $20 and donations are accepted. Lakeside Avenue will present the family-friendly bike festival Pedal & Gears from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lakeside Farmer’s Market. In addition to all things bikes, including an obstacle course, bike repair and demonstrations, there will also be live music, food, a Final Gravity beer garden, family activities, games, vendors and more. The We Heart Harlie and Friends 5K and Kids Mile will start at 8:30 a.m. at Glen Allen High School. There will also be raffles, face painting, bounce houses, food trucks, a DJ and more. Fees are $25 to $30 for the 5K and $15 to $20 for the Kids Mile. Rain or shine. We Heart Harlie and Friends’ mission is to help raise money to offset the financial strain of medically fragile children. United for UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) Fun Run and 5K, a family-friendly walk/run to honor organ donors, celebrate organ recipients and offer hope to those who continue to wait for a lifesaving organ transplant, will start at 5 p.m. in Innsbrook, 4951 Lake Brook Dr. Proceeds will support UNOS’ lifesaving work, including organ matching and transplantation education programs. The MathScience Innovation Center will celebrate its 50th anniversary with "A Night of Learning" from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the MSiC campus, 2401 Hartman Street, Richmond. The event will include "Science on a Sphere" demonstrations (an educational tool on loan from NASA), STEM demonstrations, a silent auction and refreshments. Enchantment Theatre Company will present “Peter Rabbit Tales” at 3 p.m. in Alice Jepson Theatre at the University of Richmond’s Modlin Theatre for the Arts. Beatrix Potter’s “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” has enchanted young audiences for more than 100 years with the exploits of a charming hero, who, going against his mother’s wishes, has adventures (and misadventures) in Mr. McGregor’s garden. In celebration of Potter’s 150th birthday anniversary, Enchantment Theatre brings her stories to life using fantastic masks, whimsical puppets, gorgeous scenery and original music.
