Restaurant Watch


Following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “priority” or “priority foundation” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “core” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.

APRIL 19
Carytown Burgers & Fries Catering and Cafe, 5404 Lakeside Avenue – One priority violation reported (employee observed entering kitchen from outside and grabbing utensils and food without washing hands) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Heavenly Cafe, 10101 Brook Road – One priority violation reported (raw foods of animal origin — chicken, liver, fish – observed stored adjacent to and over ready-to-eat foods: cooked food, bagged greens, bottled water) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Hyderabad Biryani House, 2743 Hungary Spring Road – One priority violation reported (food employee observed failing to wash hands before putting on gloves) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Paragon Cafe, 6802 Paragon Place – No violations reported.
Private Stock Cigar & Wine Company, 435 North Ridge Road – No violations reported.
Toast, 7007 Three Chopt Road – Two priority violations reported (cheese sauce and black beans that had been prepared previous day observed at improper temperatures in walk-in cooler; pimiento cheese in bottom storage area of salad prep observed at improper temperature) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Waffle House, 3202 East Parham Road – Three priority violations reported (food employee observed failing to wash hands after cracking whole shell eggs, then handling cooked waffles; raw cheesesteak observed stored over bacon in reach-in; ham and cheese observed at improper temperature in make table) and no priority foundation violations reported.

APRIL 20
Chick-Fil-A, 9100 West Broad Street – One priority violation reported (tomatoes in sandwich station observed at improper temperature) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Deep Run Roadhouse, 12379 Gayton Road – Three priority violations reported (whole chicken and unwrapped sausage observed in hot holding drawer at improper temperatures; green beans and cheese in prep unit observed at improper temperatures, cooked fries observed out on prep table by fryer at improper temperatures; quat sanitizer at three-compartment sink observed at improper level) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Dirty Apron Catering Company, 9614 River Road – Three priority violations reported (employee observed pre-washing dirty dishes, then go through the back door to go outside, return to continue spraying dirty dishes, then begin to put away clean dishes while wearing the same contaminated gloves; pork BBQ scraps and fat observed at improper temperatures in large plastic containers in walk-in; observed container of baked beans in walk-in dated April 5) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Flying Dragon Chinese Restaurant, 5314 Chamberlayne Road – No violations reported.
Tay-Ho, 7927 West Broad Street – Two priority violations reported (employee observed failing to wash hands while putting on gloves; cut lettuce, cooked rice noodles, sliced tomatoes and bean sprouts on counter, also garlic with oil on the wok line, all observed at improper temperatures) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Thai Flavor, Food & Noodle, 4040 Cox Road – No priority violations reported and two priority foundation violations reported.
Wok N Roll, 7514 West Broad Street – No violations reported.
Wolf’s Revenge BBQ, 7801 West Broad Street – No violations reported.
