Restaurant Watch


Following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “priority” or “priority foundation” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “core” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.

DEC. 20
DQ Grill & Chill, 807 East Parham Road – One priority violation reported (broiled chicken observed hot holding at improper temperature) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Full Kee Restaurant, 6400 Horsepen Road – No priority violations reported and one priority foundation violation reported.
Halligan Bar & Grill, 2451 Old Brick Road – No priority violations reported and two priority foundation violations reported.
Henrico Doctors' Hospital - Parham, 7700 East Parham Road – Three priority violations reported (raw chicken cutlets observed stored on top of omelet toppings, raw burgers stored on shelf above cooked meatloaf; pork loin and eggplant parm observed at improper temperatures inside pass-through cabinet; coffee milk and cream for which time rather than temperature was being used as a control was not labeled or otherwise marked with a six-hour serve or discard-by time) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Kabab Bistro, 7801 West Broad Street – No priority or priority foundation violations reported.
Kroger, 11895 West Broad Street – One priority violation reported (dish machine observed not reaching proper temperature to sanitize – failed to change test strip and wash gauge was not working) and no priority foundation violations reported.
McDonald's, 7527 Staples Mill Road – Four priority violations reported (whole shell eggs stored above cooked egg patties in reach-in; raw eggs not stored in refrigeration equipment that maintains proper ambient air temperature, tray of eggs observed at room temperature on non-operating refrigerator beside egg cooker; American and white cheddar cheese, shredded cheese, leaf lettuce for which time rather than temperature was being used as a control was not labeled or otherwise marked with a 4-hour cook, serve, or discard-by time; multi-quat sanitizer at the three-compartment sink was found to be extremely high concentration) and three priority foundation violations reported.

Hardees, 1120 East Nine Mile Road – One priority violation reported (employee observed touching trash can then failing to wash hands before putting on gloves to begin food prep) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Lakeside Moose Lodge, 1207 Hilliard Road – No priority or priority foundation violations reported.
Richmond Volleyball Club, 2921 Byrdhill Road – No priority violations reported and one priority foundation violation reported.
Subway Sandwiches & Salads, 73 South Airport Drive – One priority violation reported (food on the line and in walk-in observed at improper temperatures) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Zorba's Greek-Italian Cuisine, 9068 West Broad Street – Four priority violations reported (raw shell eggs and raw meat stored over produce/ready to eat food; improperly cooled foods made yesterday – spanikopita, meatballs, green beans, mashed potatoes – in a bowl on top of steam well observed at improper temperatures; meat loaf, squid, chicken stock, pasta observed at improper temperatures and butter left at room temperature) and one priority foundation violation reported.

Domino's Pizza, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive – No violations reported.
Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, 11710 West Broad Street – Two priority violations reported (food at front service line in cold wells – greens, lettuce, taziki sauce – observed at improper temperatures; a y-valve splitter with a hose attached has been placed on the mop sink faucet rendering the atmospheric vent backflow of the mop sink insufficient) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Ming's Dynasty, 1200 North Concord Road – One priority violation reported (breaded chicken observed cold-holding at improper temperatures) and one priority foundation violation reported.
O'Charley's Restaurant, 9990 Brook Road – No violations reported.
Qdoba Mexican Eats, 4925 West Broad Street – One priority violation reported ("Goof Off" found stored with EZ coat on the grill line) and no priority foundation violations reported.
