Metro Diner opens in Short Pump

DEC. 13 – Metro Diner opens today at Short Pump Town Center. The location is the chain's first in Virginia. It features a menu that includes all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner with classic American fare and twists on traditional dishes. Most dishes sell for $15 or less.

“Guests feel at home when they come to Metro Diner because we welcome them as if they are coming to our own house,” says Metro Diner founder and Chef Mark Davoli. “Short Pump is a tightknit community and we look forward to instilling that same sense of familiarity when our diner opens its doors in the heart of the suburbs.”

The diner will employ more than 100 people. Applications are being accepted online at for all positions, including servers, hosts, bartenders and kitchen staff.

The location hosted a two-day pre-opening event, which benefitted the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation and the Junior Achievement of Central Virginia.

Metro Diner will be open Sunday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
