Restaurant watch

The following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “critical” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “non-critical” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.

Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches, 9018 Staples Mill Road – Two critical violations reported (ham observed at improper temperature inside make table; prepared ready-to-eat tuna in refrigeration unit not properly dated for disposition ) and three non-critical violations reported.
Melody's Sugar Shack at Glen Allen Softball Complex, 2203 Mountain Road – No violations reported.
Original Mexican Restaurant, 6406 Horsepen Road – No violations reported.
T & C's Dugout, 1510 Mountain Road – One critical violation reported (ready-to-eat commercially processed sliced ham and turkey in refrigeration unit not properly dated for disposition after opening, not date labeled in prep refrigerator) and no non-critical violations reported.
The Event Goddess, 7801 West Broad Street – No violations reported.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, 7000 Forest Avenue – No violations reported.
Country Style Donuts, 8902 West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (spray bottle of clear liquid observed at service area with no identification labeling) and two non-critical violations reported.
Food Boss, 3302 Williamsburg Road – One critical violation reported (dishes being washed in three-compartment sink were not being sanitized) and three non-critical violations reported.
Habanero Mexican Grill, 9101 Quioccasin Road – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Martin's Food Market, 5100 Brook Road – No violations reported.
Mr. Wong II Chinese Restaurant, 8715 Shrader Road – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.
Private Stock Cigar & Wine Company, 435 North Ridge Road – Two critical violations reported (no date labels found on prepared and opened foods – cheese, deli meat, soup, etc.; owner's dog observed in kitchen) and three non-critical violations reported.
Rollerdome, 4902 Williamsburg Road – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Saigon Lounge, 6313 Rigsby Road – No violations reported.
TD's Smokehouse Barbecue, 8919 Patterson Avenue – Three critical violations reported (collard greens in reach-in refrigerator observed at improper temperature; baked beans observed cold-holding at improper temperature; oven cleaner observed stored on shelf with food) and no non-critical violations reported.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe, 11736 West Broad Street – No critical violations reported and seven non-critical violations reported.
Umami Coffee and Tea, 6920 Lakeside Avenue – One critical violation reported (prepared ready-to-eat salmon spread or veggie dip in refrigeration unit not properly dated for disposition, past their expiration date – person in charge said that when new products were made, the date was not changed) and three non-critical violations reported.
Waffle House, 5102 Williamsburg Road – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.

The Henrico County Police Division will provide rabies vaccines for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to noon at the Western Government Center, 4301 E. Parham Road. Pet owners must register and pay at the cashier’s office in the Administration Building before seeing a veterinarian on the first level of the adjacent parking deck. Each vaccine costs $10 and must be paid in cash. A rabies tag and certificate of inoculation are included. Pets from all localities are welcome. Cats must be in carriers.
