ARC event raises $75k for ICDS program

The 2015 Ladybug Winetasting and Silent Auction sponsors at the Torque Club.

Don Stevens, owner of Stevens Jewelers, welcomes guests and answers questions about silent auction jewelry items at the event.

The Greater Richmond ARC's annual Ladybug Wine Tasting and Silent Auction on April 11 netted $75,165 to benefit its Infant and Child Development Services (ICDS) program.

About 350 guests sampled fine West Coast wines and craft beer from Midnight Brewery at Richmond Raceway Complex's Torque Club, along with food from local eateries. Carytown Cupcakes provided dessert.

Silent auction items included A Sharper Palate Catering & Events dinner prepared at home for six to eight people; a Lanikai Ukulele and Sonor Prolite Snare Drum from Hohner, Inc.; and a selection of jewelry from Stevens Jewelers.

Proceeds from the event provide ICDS therapy scholarships and specialized equipment such as hearing aids and eyeglasses for children with developmental disabilities.
