Hair Cuttery will be donating back-to-school haircuts to children who need it most this summer through its Share-A-Haircut program. From Aug. 1-15, for every child up to age 18 who purchases a haircut at one of Hair Cuttery’s nearly 900 salons, the chain will donate one free haircut certificate to a disadvantaged child in the community. More than 61,000 free haircuts were donated last year.

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer recently announced the sale of two class A office buildings located within Innsbrook Office Park in Glen Allen. 4240 Cox Road is a 38,676 square foot two-story corporate headquarters building built in 2000. 4300 Cox Road is a 69,620 square foot three-story office building built in 1989. Lightfoot Road Hospitality, LLC purchased the office buildings from Banks Richmond Limited Partnership for $6,247,500 as an investment.

The Manakin Companies, LLC purchased the 1,718-square-foot freestanding office building from POB, LLC for $295,000. The Virginia Society of CPAs recently recognized the following members with its 2017 Life Member Award: Ronald C. Britt and Richard E. Dolan, of Glen Allen; and Mason L. Hart, of Henrico. The award recognizes those who have been members of the VSCPA for at least 40 continuous years. Including this year’s inductees, only 580 members have received the coveted Life Member Award in the VSCPA’s 108-year history. Recipients of the Life Member Award will have their annual VSCPA membership dues waived and will continue to receive all benefits extended to VSCPA members, including all services and publications. They are also honored with a special lapel pin and certificate of recognition.

Enoch has served in both sales and management positions during her tenure at Long & Foster. Prior to her real estate career, Enoch worked in information technology and hospitality. She is a graduate of Radford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics, English and history. Enoch has also received the designation of Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) from the National Association of Realtors, and this showcases her expertise in the fundamentals of real estate.

AAA Mid-Atlantic has opened a new AAA Car Care Insurance Travel Center at the intersection of Broad Street and Glenside at 7009 W. Broad St. The new location joins the auto club’s four other Virginia locations (Midlothian, Fredericksburg, Manassas and Fairfax) and replaces the previous Willow Lawn location. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Glenside Car Care Insurance Travel Center offers car care services to members and non-members, although AAA members will enjoy a lower price with a discount on repair labor.

CycleBar, a new concept in indoor cycling that offers a high-energy workout in a rock-concert-like atmosphere, will be opening to the public on Thursday, May 11. CycleBar will be one of the first tenants to open at the new GreenGate development, located between Short Pump Town Center and 288. CycleBar offers a pay-per-class model with no membership necessary. Easy online booking allows guests to purchase class packages and reserve a specific bike up to a week in advance online. Classes are 50 minutes long and feature tiers for 48 bikes plus LED lighting, wide-screen graphics and audio with a DJ booth. Riders can track performance data via CycleStats and download the music used in the class session. In the cool down period after class, riders enjoy fresh fruit, enhanced water and the aromatherapy that exists throughout the facility. To celebrate the opening, CycleBar GreenGate will offer CycleBlast, 10 days of free rides for the public, from May 11-21, giving riders the chance to experience all that CycleBar has to offer at no charge.

Draper Aden Associates announced today that it received the Gold Shovel Standard certification for excavation, which is a safety certification and rating system for companies that perform, subcontract, or oversee excavation work. DAA is currently the only consulting engineering firm in Virginia granted this best-in-class certification. Gold Shovel Standard is a nonprofit organization that fills an industry gap by providing third-party confirmation of baseline Safety Management Systems for the protection of buried assets, and fair and transparent metrics for damage prevention. According to the organization, companies that achieve this certification have policies and procedures related to excavation safety which, when followed, make a certified company unlikely to cause damage to buried infrastructure. More specifically, the company’s policies and procedures have been audited to meet the specific requirements of the Gold Shovel Standard program.
