Henrico Police make second arrest in homicide investigation


Henrico Police have arrested a second man in connection with the shooting death of a juvenile April 11.

Police arrested 20-year-old James Edwin McLaughlin III, age 20, of Chesterfield and charged him with first-degree murder, shooting from a vehicle and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

State trooper shot in Henrico cul-de-sac


SEPT. 20, 11:30 A.M. – A North Carolina woman who Virginia State Police say shot a state trooper in Henrico last night has been charged with attempted capital murder of a police officer and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The woman, Karisa Shyanne Daniels, 23, of Durham, N.C., allegedly fired at Senior Trooper C. A. Putnam on Lakeway Court, a Henrico cul-de-sac near September Drive shortly before midnight, following a chase.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man who robber a bank on Staples Mill Road Sept. 5.

At approximately 12:35 p.m. that day, Henrico Police responded to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 10100 block of Staples Mill Road for reports of a robbery. The suspect, a black male between 40 and 50 years old, had entered the bank, approached the victim and presented a note.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect who robbed a CVS on Woodman Road on the morning of June 18.

At about 9:25 a.m. that day, a victim reported that a black male entered the business, at 9501 Woodman Road, approached the pharmacy counter, and jumped over into the pharmacy area. The suspect then demanded prescription medication from the victim. The victim complied, and the suspect exited the business on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 30 and 35 years of age and approximately 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7 in height, weighing between 145 and 165 pounds.

Police seek 2 in connection with murder


Henrico Police are seeking two people of interest in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old Sandston man last week.

Walter Darnell Adams, Jr., was found in the 5700 block of Williamsburg Road June 10 at 2:55 with another man, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Adams was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

A police investigation identified two men who police are referring to as being of interest to the case. The men are pictured above.

Henrico Police seek information about homicide


A shooting on Williamsburg Road in Eastern Henrico early this morning left a man dead, and Henrico Police are seeking information about the incident from the public.

At about 2:55 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the 5700 block of Williamsburg Road, where they located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with life threatening injuries, and the other victim was pronounced at the scene. The motive for the shooting is unknown,
and detectives are continuing their investigation. Police have not released the name of the deceased victim, pending positive identification and next of kin notification.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man who robbed a business in the 4700 block of Finlay Street in Eastern Henrico April 15, then apparently returned to the same business April 18 and attempted to enter it again.

At 3:24 p.m. April 15, police responded to the site after a victim reported that a white male entered the business and approached the counter, said he had a firearm and an explosive device and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled the business but left a suspicious item behind. The surrounding businesses were evacuated and the Henrico Explosive Ordinance Unit responded and determined the item was inert.

Henrico Police seek assistance identifying larceny suspect


Henrico Police officials are seeking a man who is believed to have stolen a purse from a woman at a Willow Lawn restaurant earlier this month.

On April 1, the victim reported that an unknown individual took her purse while she was dining at a restaurant. The purse contained credit cards, money, identification and a cellular phone. Shortly after the larceny, the victim’s credit card was used at a retail store in a neighboring locality. Based upon images obtained, the suspect (pictured) appears to be a white or Asian male, wearing a baseball hat and possibly driving a white Honda Accord.

Henrico Police arrest and charge man in Mar. 10 homicide


Henrico Police arrested and charged 25-year-old Anton Lateef Edwards of Bowling Green with first-degree murder in the Mar. 10 shooting death of a 23-year-old Virginia Beach man in northern Henrico. Edwards also was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

At approximately 12:15 a.m., Mar. 10, Henrico Police were flagged down by a citizen near the intersection of Alma Avenue and East Laburnum Avenue who informed them that a male had been shot in the area of Alma Avenue.

Henrico Police seek burglary suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man who burglarized a jewelry store in the 1500 block of North Parham Road in the early morning hours Mar. 31.

At approximately 4:06 a.m. Thursday, Henrico Police responded to a commercial burglary alarm at the site of Adolf Jewelers and located a vehicle inside of the business. They determined that the suspect, a light-skinned black male, drove the vehicle into the business, removed jewelry and fled the store on foot. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle used in the burglary was stolen sometime during the overnight hours between Mar. 30 and the time of the incident.

Henrico Police seek help identifying commercial robbery suspect

Henrico Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and individual responsible for a series of commercial robberies that have occurred in the eastern portion of the county since late January.

Between Jan. 29 and Feb. 6, police have investigated three commercial robberies that have occurred along the Nine Mile Road corridor. The first occurred Jan. 29 in the 1800 block of East Nine Mile Road at 2:20 p.m. The second occurred the same day in the 5200 block of Nine Mile Road at 8:29 p.m.. The third incident occurred in the 1800 block of East Nine Mile Road at 7:10 p.m. Feb. 6.

Henrico Police seek armed robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a suspect who committed an armed robbery of a business in the 6700 block of Staples Mill Road Jan. 6 shortly after 7 p.m.

The victims reported that a black male, armed with a silver handgun, entered the business and approached the register. The suspect struck a customer in line and pointed the firearm at the victim while demanding money. The suspect then went behind the counter, removed currency and exited the business on foot. The customer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Henrico Police seeks larceny suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a suspect who stole items from a store at The Shops at Willow Lawn Jan. 3.

The suspect, a black male (pictured) described as being between 5 foot 9 and 6 foot 1 in height, entered the business, concealed merchandise and exited without making payment. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hat and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Henrico Police seek leads on cold case murder


On the second anniversary of the death of Alex Tremaine Perkins, Henrico Police officials are seeking assistance from the public in solving the homicide.

On Nov. 15, 2013, police responded to a firearm violation in the 7000 block of Hunt Club Lane. Once on scene, officers located Perkins in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred shortly after Perkins left his place of employment at Tyson Foods. While initially there were persons of interest in this case, it still remains open.

Henrico Police seek man wanted in robbery, assault case


Henrico Police need assistance locating a man wanted in connection to robbery and aggravated assault.

Benjamin Daniel Trujillo, 27, is wanted for burglary with intent to commit robbery, attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, abduction, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and malicious wounding. Trujillo is a 27 year old black male, 6 feet tall, and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
