Henrico Police make second arrest in homicide investigation


Henrico Police have arrested a second man in connection with the shooting death of a juvenile April 11.

Police arrested 20-year-old James Edwin McLaughlin III, age 20, of Chesterfield and charged him with first-degree murder, shooting from a vehicle and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

SEPT. 20, 11:30 A.M. – A North Carolina woman who Virginia State Police say shot a state trooper in Henrico last night has been charged with attempted capital murder of a police officer and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The woman, Karisa Shyanne Daniels, 23, of Durham, N.C., allegedly fired at Senior Trooper C. A. Putnam on Lakeway Court, a Henrico cul-de-sac near September Drive shortly before midnight, following a chase.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man who robber a bank on Staples Mill Road Sept. 5.

At approximately 12:35 p.m. that day, Henrico Police responded to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 10100 block of Staples Mill Road for reports of a robbery. The suspect, a black male between 40 and 50 years old, had entered the bank, approached the victim and presented a note.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a suspect who robbed a business in the 3800 block of Meadowbridge Road Dec. 29.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. that day, a black male entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded currency. After receiving an undisclosed amount of currency, the suspect fled the business on foot. He was last seen running toward Radcliffe Avenue.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man who robbed a retail food store on East Laburnum Avenue shortly after noon Dec. 19.

The man (pictured) entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded currency. After he received it, he fled on foot. The man is described as a black male, approximately 25 to 30 years old, 5 foot 5 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was last seen running through the parking lot of the convenience store across the street.

The suspect was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a black stocking hat.

Henrico Police arrest, charge 18-year-old with murder


Henrico Police arrested and charged an 18-year-old county man with second-degree murder in the death of a 20-year-old Henrico man Dec. 4.

Leslie Jerome Tyler, Jr. is being held at the Henrico County Jail, charged in the stabbing death of Keonte Freeman Taylor at a hotel in the 5700 block of Williamsburg Road in Eastern Henrico. At about 1:25 a.m., Dec. 4, police and fire units responded to the hotel for reports of a stabbing. They found Taylor, who was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Henrico Police seek tips about Sandston murder

Henrico Police are seeking information from the public about a murder that occurred Dec. 2 in Sandston.

At about 2:30 a.m., police responded to the 5200 block of Lewis Road (just behind the Henrico Volunteer Rescue Squad near Richmond International Airport) after reports of a shooting. Officers located 21-year-old Jarrelle James Pringle, of Richmond, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives continue to investigate the incident.

Virginia woman caught with loaded gun at Richmond International Airport checkpoint


A New Kent County woman was stopped by Transportation Security Administration officers at the Richmond International Airport (RIC) checkpoint Nov. 30 when TSA officers detected a .380 caliber handgun among her carry-on items. The handgun was loaded with three bullets, including one in the chamber.

TSA officers immediately contacted the Richmond International Airport Police, which responded, confiscated the gun and issued a summons to the woman, a resident of Quinton.

Henrico Police seek to identify larceny suspects


The Henrico Police Division is seeking help identifying three suspects who are wanted in connection with the theft of eyeglass frames from several Henrico stores in recent weeks.

The suspects (pictured) are two males and one female. One male is described as being six feet tall and weighing about 250 pounds, while the other is described as being about 5-foot-7 and weighing about 180 pounds. The female is described as being about 5-foot-5. All three are described as Hispanic and speaking both English and Spanish.

NOV. 10 Henrico Police are seeking two suspects who robbed a business in Eastern Henrico early Thursday morning.

At approximately 6:20 a.m., police responded to a convenience store in the 600 block of North Airport Drive after reports of a robbery. Two males had entered the store and approached the counter, when one displayed a handgun and demanded currency. The victim complied and the suspects exited the business on foot. They were last seen heading towards East Washington Street in Highland Springs.

Henrico Police are seeking a man who robbed a bank in Sandston Oct. 18.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., police responded to the 0 block of South Airport Drive after the report of the robbery. The victim reported that a white male entered the Wells Fargo bank, approached the counter and demanded currency. The victim complied, and the suspect exited the business on foot. The suspect did not display a weapon. He is described as a white male, 30 to 35 years of age and approximately six feet to six-foot-three in height. The suspect (pictured) was wearing a blue plaid flannel shirt, blue jeans and a baseball hat.

Henrico Police seek larceny suspect


The Henrico Division of Police are seeking a man who they believe made several purchases with a stolen credit card last week.

Police responded to the 4500 block of South Laburnum Avenue Oct. 2 after reports of a suspicious person. The man saw the officers and then fled into a wooded area and escaped their view. When police investigated further, they learned that he had recently made several purchases in the area with the stolen credit card.

The suspect (pictured) is an adult black male and was last seen wearing a black and red shirt and black pants.

Henrico Police arrest robbery suspect


Henrico Police have arrested and charged a 33-year-old county man with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with a robbery that occurred Oct. 4 in the 6800 block of Paragon Place. Police anticipate other charges will be filed against the suspect, Jeremy Lemech Graham, in connection with other commercial robberies in the West End.

Officers observed a vehicle leaving the area of the Oct. 4 robbery and ultimately stopped it with the assistance of the Richmond Police Department, at which point they arrested Graham.

Henrico Police make arrest in robbery investigation

Henrico Police this week arrested and charged a man with robbery in connection with two cases in which victims were robbed while attempting to purchase items advertised on social media.

Police arrested Clayton Mollette, Jr. Oct. 4 and charged him with three counts of robbery and three counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Members of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the New York City Police Department assisted Henrico Police in making the arrest in New York City.

Henrico Police arrest man in connection with April homicide


Henrico Police have arrested a 47-year-old county man and charged him with first-degree murder in the April 29 shooting death of a 35-year-old Henrico man in Sandston.

Police charged 47-year-old Jarvis Bacola Williams with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the death of Shaun Bernard Johnson, who was found shot April 29 at about 8:40 p.m.

The Henrico County Health Department will offer free flu vaccinations to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Adult Education Center, 7850 Carousel Ln., and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the East Henrico Health Clinic, 1400 N. Laburnum Ave. The clinics will provide standard-dose flu vaccine to individuals age three and older on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
