State trooper shot in Henrico cul-de-sac


SEPT. 20, 11:30 A.M. – A North Carolina woman who Virginia State Police say shot a state trooper in Henrico last night has been charged with attempted capital murder of a police officer and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The woman, Karisa Shyanne Daniels, 23, of Durham, N.C., allegedly fired at Senior Trooper C. A. Putnam on Lakeway Court, a Henrico cul-de-sac near September Drive shortly before midnight, following a chase.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man who robber a bank on Staples Mill Road Sept. 5.

At approximately 12:35 p.m. that day, Henrico Police responded to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 10100 block of Staples Mill Road for reports of a robbery. The suspect, a black male between 40 and 50 years old, had entered the bank, approached the victim and presented a note.

2 dead, 1 injured in Highland Springs shooting

Two people died in a weekend shooting in Highland Springs and a third was injured in the incident.

Henrico Police identified the two deceased victims as 31-year-old Lakisha L. Lewis and 32-year-old Devon L. Blowe, both of Richmond.

Police release sketch of Cheswick Park assault suspect


Henrico Police have released a sketch of the suspect who they say attacked a woman in Cheswick Park June 24.

The suspect is described as an African American male, 20 to 30 years old and approximately 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 9 in height, weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray or bluish Captain America t-shirt, dark shorts, pink slippers and white socks. The sketch is pictured.

Henrico Police seek bank robber


Henrico Police are seeking a man who robbed a West End bank June 8.

At about 4 p.m., police responded to the First Citizen’s Bank in the 10000 block of Patterson Avenue after reports that a black male had entered the businesses, presented a note to an employee, then fled with money. The employee complied with the man's demands, and the suspect fled the business on foot. He did not display a weapon.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico County Police Division is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the subject responsible for a robbery on April 4.

At approximately 6:25 p.m. April 4, Henrico Police responded to a retail business in the 1900 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for a commercial robbery. A black male entered the business, presented a note to the victim, and displayed a handgun. The victim complied with the suspect, and the suspect fled the store. The suspect was last seen walking on Cool Lane away from Mechanicsville Turnpike.

MAR. 21, 9:30 A.M. – Henrico Police are seeking the man who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank on Brook Road Monday evening.

At approximately 5 p.m. March 20, police responded to the bank, in the 8100 block of Brook Road, after reports that a white male had entered the business and presented a note demanding money.

Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man in connection with a commercial robbery in northern Henrico Mar. 6.

At about 6 p.m. that day, police responded to a check cashing business in the 3000 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike following the robbery. A black male entered the store with his hand in his pocket and demanded money. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the store.

The suspect (pictured) is described as a black male, 27-32 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 200-220 pounds.

Henrico Police charge man with murder


Henrico Police have charged a 23-year-old county man with second-degree murder in connection with a Jan. 27 Glen Allen homicide.

Jamare Maurice Jones is charged with the murder of George Quarles Jones, Jr., 61, in what police are calling a domestic incident. They have not disclosed how the two men are related.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., Jan. 27, Henrico Police and Fire responded for a shooting in 4600 block of Francistown Road, where they located the elder Jones suffering from a gunshot wound.

Henrico Police have arrested a man in connection with a carjacking and shooting that took place in Sandston Jan. 3.

Twenty-eight year-old Mark Alan Workman faces two counts each of robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Henrico Police are seeking a suspect who robbed a business in the 3800 block of Meadowbridge Road Dec. 29.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. that day, a black male entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded currency. After receiving an undisclosed amount of currency, the suspect fled the business on foot. He was last seen running toward Radcliffe Avenue.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico Police are seeking a man who robbed a retail food store on East Laburnum Avenue shortly after noon Dec. 19.

The man (pictured) entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded currency. After he received it, he fled on foot. The man is described as a black male, approximately 25 to 30 years old, 5 foot 5 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was last seen running through the parking lot of the convenience store across the street.

The suspect was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a black stocking hat.

Henrico Police arrest, charge 18-year-old with murder


Henrico Police arrested and charged an 18-year-old county man with second-degree murder in the death of a 20-year-old Henrico man Dec. 4.

Leslie Jerome Tyler, Jr. is being held at the Henrico County Jail, charged in the stabbing death of Keonte Freeman Taylor at a hotel in the 5700 block of Williamsburg Road in Eastern Henrico. At about 1:25 a.m., Dec. 4, police and fire units responded to the hotel for reports of a stabbing. They found Taylor, who was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Henrico Police seek tips about Sandston murder

Henrico Police are seeking information from the public about a murder that occurred Dec. 2 in Sandston.

At about 2:30 a.m., police responded to the 5200 block of Lewis Road (just behind the Henrico Volunteer Rescue Squad near Richmond International Airport) after reports of a shooting. Officers located 21-year-old Jarrelle James Pringle, of Richmond, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives continue to investigate the incident.

Virginia woman caught with loaded gun at Richmond International Airport checkpoint


A New Kent County woman was stopped by Transportation Security Administration officers at the Richmond International Airport (RIC) checkpoint Nov. 30 when TSA officers detected a .380 caliber handgun among her carry-on items. The handgun was loaded with three bullets, including one in the chamber.

TSA officers immediately contacted the Richmond International Airport Police, which responded, confiscated the gun and issued a summons to the woman, a resident of Quinton.
