Richmond detectives need the public’s help to identify the vehicle and suspects in the shooting incident of a 7-year-old boy and an adult male. Can you help Crime Stoppers solve this latest shooting?

The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of North 22nd Street in the Fairmount neighborhood of the city. Officers arrived and found the two victims near a bus stop.

Cyclist killed in crash was 52-year-old man

Henrico Police have named the victim killed June 21 when the bicycle he was riding collided with a truck on Mechanicsville Turnpike near I-64 in Eastern Henrico.

Fifty-two year-old Ray J. Freeman, of Richmond, died at a local hospital after being struck. The truck that hit him was traveling south on Mechanicsville Turnpike.

Henrico man sentenced to 10 years in prison for dealing heroin

A Henrico man was sentenced June 20 to 10 years in prison for distribution of heroin.

Arlando Harris, 35, pleaded guilty on Dec. 29, 2016. According to the statement of facts filed with the plea agreement, Henrico Police executed a search warrant at Harris' mother's residence in Henrico on March 16, 2016.

No one injured by Far West End house fire


MAY 12, 2:30 P.M. – No one was injured during a fire at a home in Henrico's Far West End Friday morning.

The fire broke out shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the 13400 block of Elwell Lane, near North Gayton Road. An occupant of the house reported tha smoke was coming from the attic. Firefighters from Station 13 were on scene within three minutes and met by the occupants, who told them that everyone had escaped the home.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week - May 8, 2017


Crime Stoppers needs the public's assistance to help identify the suspects in a shooting that occurred in the Barton Heights neighborhood.

At approximately 5:19 p.m. May 1, multiple police units responded to the Norrell Elementary School Annex at 201 W. Graham Road for an active shooter situation. It was reported that three suspects forced entry into the building and were possibly still on-scene. When units arrived, they quickly set a perimeter and cleared the building.

One person was found suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound in the building.

Henrico Police arrest, charge two with teen’s murder

Henrico Police have arrested and charged two women with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 19-year-old man found in a wooded area April 2 near Airport Drive.

Denise Monique Gay, 48, of Henrico and Latoya Shantice Gay, 21, of Richmond both are incarcerated in the Henrico County jail.
They are charged in connection with the death of 19-year-old Martre Lamonte Coles, of Henrico, whose body was found near the 6200 block of Gorman Road.

Crime Stoppers needs your help to identify a man who Richmond detectives say broke into several businesses in the Fan District.

The incidents occurred throughout January, March and April.

Surveillance cameras captured the images of the man pictured. He is described as a black male with a light complexion and a stocky build. He is bald, has a dark beard, is approximately 30 to 50 years old, and 5’9” to 5’11 tall.

Henrico Police arrest 2 Georgia men in connection with January murder


Henrico Police have arrested and charged two Georgia men with first-degree murder in connection with the Jan. 18 murder of 36-year-old Lamont Cornelius Baldwin in the 1200 block of Dominion Townes Terrace.

Antonio Tyrone Johnson (above, left) and Santonio Rodrigus Brown (above, right), both 24 and both of Atlanta, were charged. Johnson also was charged with use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Man struck and killed in western Henrico hit-and-run

A 24-year-old man died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in western Henrico April 23.

The victim, Emmanuel Isaiah DeJesus, was found lying on the side of the roadway at about 10:25 p.m., April 23 near Patterson Avenue and Palace Way. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Henrico Police to host prescription drug take-back event April 29


The Henrico County Division of Police and the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration will participate in the nationwide Prescription Drug Take Back Program Saturday, April 29. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Henrico County Training Center, 7701 East Parham Road, next to the Public Safety Building.

The program is free and anonymous. Unused or expired pills, patches and liquid prescriptions (in their sealed original container) will be accepted. Needles and sharp items will not be accepted. No questions will be asked.

Henrico house fire contained quickly


APR. 24, 9:15 A.M. – A house fire in Henrico's West End Sunday caused minor damage but resulted in no injuries. At about noon Sunday, Henrico Emergency Communications Officers received phone calls of smoke coming from a home in the 1700 block of Shewalt Circle, just one block off Hungary Road.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week: April 24, 2017


Crime Stoppers needs your help to identify the suspects who participated in a home invasion and robbery in the City of Richmond.

At approximately 2:33 A.M. April 12, four or five men forced their way through a rear door and into an apartment in the 1100 block of West Grace Street.

According to police, the suspects – one with a long gun and all but one in ski masks – bound the occupants with duct tape and robbed them of several items, including cash, mobile phones and a computer.

Henrico Police apprehend shooting suspect

APR. 20, 4:10 P.M. – Henrico Police apprehended a suspect in a shooting that forced a lockdown at two northern Henrico schools Thursday morning.

At approximately 10:25 a.m., police responded to the area of Richmond-Henrico Turnpike and Meriwether Avenue following reports of a shooting. Officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.

Henrico Police seek robbery suspect


Henrico County Police Division is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the subject responsible for a robbery on April 4.

At approximately 6:25 p.m. April 4, Henrico Police responded to a retail business in the 1900 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for a commercial robbery. A black male entered the business, presented a note to the victim, and displayed a handgun. The victim complied with the suspect, and the suspect fled the store. The suspect was last seen walking on Cool Lane away from Mechanicsville Turnpike.

Henrico woman arrested after investigation into fires


A 44-year old Glen Allen woman has been arrested in connection with two separate fires that occurred in a Holiday Inn Express on International Center Drive March 30.

Bhamini Naginbhai Patel was arrested by members of the Henrico Fire Marshal’s office, and has been charged with two counts of arson.
